On September 12, 2024, from the SOUTH COAST OF ICELAND at the world famous Reynisfjara black sand beach by the Halsanefshellir cave (famous for its hexagonal basalt pillars), we experienced an intense and dramatic night of KP8-G3 aurora activity. This collection of timelapse video includes the corona looking straight up to Zenith, the view from the beach to the cave entrance by the sea, and Orion is rising over the famous rocks that have been seen in many movies and images of Iceland.
The sailing rock at Racetrack Playa provided a unique foreground on May 10th for the rare appearance of the Aurora at Death Valley National Park in California. 10 hour Timelapse. An extremely rare and special moment in time. The aurora danced brightly in the northern sky and reflected its vibrance and luminance across the surface of the playa in varied hues of red and reached the Southeastern night sky accompanying the milky way as it graced the view over the Racetrack following a storm.

Milkyway rising in the Southern Hemisphere was breathtaking, contrasting with our view in the North and fun to see the difference!
Bonfire lights the foreground throughout the Timelapse.

I am an artist at heart, and I apply my talents to whatever inspires me, whether it’s through photography or painting. Over the years, I’ve expressed my creativity in many forms, including painting realistic oil portraits and landscapes. My journey into photography began over two decades ago in Tennessee, where I worked professionally in portrait, wedding and product photography.
In 2015, I moved to Austin, Texas, where the dynamic cityscapes sparked my interest in timelapse photography. I began capturing the mesmerizing interplay of light in sunrises and sunsets, which ultimately led me to the night sky and the art of astrophotography.
I am currently equipped with a variety of advanced gear, including star trackers, cameras, lenses and telescopes. My passion for astrophotography has grown as I have continued to learn more about the night sky and nature, and I now focus on capturing both landscapes and deep space images.
Since 2021, I’ve dedicated myself to discovering the darkest skies across the U.S., using my expertise and specialized equipment to capture breathtaking astrophotography. Through my workshops, I share this passion with others, helping photographers create stunning images of the cosmos while guiding them on their own creative journeys.
